Ancient Egypt's key features were their pyramids, trade, writing and there government. When people say Egypt you think of pyramids and deserts because Egypt was known for there strange building structures. these pyramids were the tombs for the pharaohs after they died. Trade was key in ancient Egypt because of the lack of wood. It was also easy for Egyptians to trade because of the red sea and the Nile river for easy transportation. The government in ancient Egypt was interesting. The pharaohs were at the top, Next were the high priests and nobles, then were the officials, scribes and minor priest, after that were the crafts men and finally were the servants, laborers and peasants. One of there major developments were there writing, it was called hieroglyphics. There letters were made out of shapes you see a lot. At first only rich people could learn to write but soon almost everybody could learn to read hieroglyphics and write them as well. Daily life in ancient was very interest. Everyone ate well. Everyone bathed daily, the rich people bathed in soaking tubs with scented soap and the poor bathed in the Nile. All Egyptians were very clean. Ancient Egyptians had their own homes. They had comfortable furniture. Most ancient Egyptians worked very hard, but they left time each day for play and to spend time with their families. Everyone worshiped there gods and prayed to them.Children were taught to be kind and honest, to respect their parents, to help with the family business, and to care for the elder members of their family. Ancient Egypt was one of the most successful during ancient times. they made many innovations such as the ox drawn plow, paper made from papyrus and the pyramids.
