Geography effected ancient Egypt because the deserts protected the Egyptians from two side so they just need to protect the north and the south sides of Egypt to protect them from intruders and armies. But the Nile river, by far, had the biggest impact in Egyptian society. The Nile river had flood patterns and this determined when the farmers planted there crops this helped the agricultural development in Egypt. The Nile river also provide transportation and water which was needed in everyday life. This might be why Egypt was so successful in ancient times.
